Yugaaniki Okkadu...
Two things raised my expectations on this movie 1. Sri Ragava 2 . long duration taken for the shoot.
The movie got hype in telugu through the promotions as movie is in list of Arundati, Magadheera, 2012... But to say visual effects are good but not like in the above mega hits..
Firstly, I'd like to tell Ragava ( Film Director) to reduce the Violence in his movies... Really Guys some scences are too violent & repugnance . but should applaud him for taking such different concepts..
Movie is dubbed version of Tamil - Aayirathil Oruvan, which is doing decent business ( offcourse got mixed reviews). Moves starts with around 1279AD , the war between Cholas and Pandyas in Tanjavur (Tamilnadu). Fearing losing to Pandyians, Chola king sents his Prince with his Guru and other remainders to save chola dynasty to a secret territory. They take Pandyas sacred idol with them. Pandyans explore all the ways, methods to retrieve the sacred idol and the last chola which go all in vain. Coming to the present, an archaeologist goes missing in search of the secret location of the lost chola group. Indian GOvt forms a team with Anitha and ex major in expedition of the lost chola group and missing archaeologist.
Along with them the daughter of missing archaeologist and a team of helpers goes for the expedition. Their journey, how they face the traps set by cholas to protect themselves from Pandyans forms rest of the movie.
Applauds to Ragava and Ravindran (producer)in taking this subject which invloves heavy budget (32 crores as per wikipedia) and risk.
Partiban has done excellent job as present Chola king. Karthi excelled in his role. Reema sen is hot ,, and Andrea has nothing to do...
Photography by Ramji is excellent and editing is OK ...music elevates the scenes. G.V. Prakash has done good job in background score but failed for songs.
Shouldn't watch with Children..some scenes are abhorrence with violence and sex ...
Visual effects in the movie are good.. the only thing to watch in this movie..
Finally my rating - 2.5/5 ...
